ALOYCE THE CHOIR MASTER

           You may not believe that he is 7 and has been conducting the choir in the church since he was 2 years old. He first started by drumming and proceeded to conducting the church choir. Aloyce the boy of standard one at Kasanga Primary School in Morogoro is a boy whom we can say is talented. He conducts the choir together with other trained choir masters (elders). He can as well conduct the choir alone without being assisted. As I talked to him he said he can miss meals at home but not conducting the choir be it at the singing practice or the actual singin in church.

CLUB OR CHURCH?

          It is a very cool morning I walk to the cathedral to attend the Sunday mass. I am very eager to hear from the homily  something new on the gospel about the prodigal son. Something caught my attention at the entrance. I saw an elderly woman giving a young lady 'Kitenge' to put on before should could enter the place of worship. I was somehow startled with the scene because the young lady seemed to be reluctant to put on the Kitenge and the humble  Mama could not just allow her to get into the 'temple'.

My inquisitive mind pushed me to ask someone at the entrance 'why all that'. I came to realize that the young lady was in the dress code which the elderly mama claimed to be indecent and that it would make other people especially men not to follow the mass well.

            The young lady on top of her make up and fake hair called wig was in a miniskirt which hardly reached the her knees and if she would have herself seated or upon genuflection her inner tights would present themselves out to be seen. She dressed in a way that suggested she was going to take part in fashion show, night club or beauty contest. Again the young lady had the type of  bra which in town they call 'push up'. Her breasts where in way that they looked half in half out. A question came to my mind, 'Who is wrong here?' Or rather whose mind is dirty The girl's intention who dressed in way to put men to the test or the men any others who can't follow the mass well after seeing her in a miniskirt?

WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THIS.? Should people dress the way the feel comfortable anywhere and at anytime? Should there be dress codes and dress codes restrictions for church, work, clubbing?
